Double Angled Gatefold Card

Today I an sharing a fun fold card which was intimidating at first for me. It's called a Double Angled Gatefold. However once I got going, it was easier than it looked. I found the instructions for the card here
I had some leftover DSP from last year, Blackberry Beauty and wanted to get it used up. I chose Blackberry Bliss as my card base, and layered it with Rich Razzleberry and the dsp. Using the Gathered Leaves Dies,(R) on Gold paper I decorated a belly band.I used more dsp from the pack. The label is cut from Fresh Freesia CS.  My stamp is non SU. I love, love, love, how the card turned out.

Tic-tac-toe Challenge with Hippest Hippos

For my monthly challenge we were given a Tic-tac-toe challenge. The line I chose was stencil, colored card base, and purple or pink. I picked the Hippest Hippo stamp/ die set for the card. I think the Hippos are pretty cute. I colored him up with the  light and dark Smokey Slate blends. Using a stencil is not something I do very often at all!! I was able to pull out my Blending Brushes and give them a whirl on the stencil. The purple is his goggles and some of the flowers are purple and pink. My card base is the retired Rococo Rose, and I layered Soft Seafoam on top of that. I am pretty happy with my card. Breaking out of my comfort element a little bit at a time.
I have a couple of grandsons who are having birthdays so I am thinking the Hippest Hippos will see more action!
See ya later!

Sun Prints Suite

Happy Friday everyone!
Today I am sharing a card I am casing from my fellow demonstrator, Mary Louise Johnson.
You can check out her blog at East Coast Stamping with Mary Louise.
This card is so quick and easy!
What's in it?
Starry Night cardstock 4 1 /4 " x 11", scored  at 5 1/2"
A piece of Sun Prints dsp, 4" x 5 1/4 " Adhere to Starry Night.
A piece of Starry Night cs 1 1/4" x 6"
Basic white cs 1" x 6"
Stamp a greeting to the left, on the basic white. Mine is from the Nature's Prints stamp set. I used the Starry Night Ink.
Adhere the white to the Starry Night, and place on Card front on an angle. Trim the excess cs.
Stamp your images, and cut out, and arrange on card front. Again I used Nature's Prints, using the dies to cut them out.
Voila! Pretty easy!
Till next time!

Hippest Hippos for Piper

Our beautiful granddaughter Piper, turns 1 today. For her birthday card I chose the ballerina from the Hippest Hippo Sale-a-bration stamp set. I am getting better with my Stampin blends, and trying to do a bit more coloring. I love how the blends don't leave that line.
We love her sooooo much! Happy 1st Birthday Piper!
Till next time

Sending Smiles Thank you cards

A couple of weeks ago, I held a card class. I wanted to give the girls a thank you card, in appreciation of them supporting my little business. I searched pinterest and found this card. The Sending Smiles stamp set and dies has been used a lot! So many lovely sentiments, to use. Birthdays, Thank you, Sympathy or just a hello!
I used up some more retired dsp, which is always good! I also did some heat embossing,  something I don't do very often. I loved the end result!
Happy Crafting!

Slimline Dies

My daughter and her husband recently celebrated 12 years of marriage. For their anniversary I chose to make a card using her wedding colours. Lime green and black. I love slimline cards so this was a great opportunity to use the now retired, Slim card dies. The dsp I used is also retired, and I still had some of the leftover dsp from her wedding invitations to use up. I chose the  Nature's Prints stamp set and co-ordinating dies to accent the card.  Other cuts found on the card were bits and pieces on my desk.
When both Jeff and Kelly saw the card, they recognized the dsp from their wedding.❤
Till next time!
